Renton Little League Baseball Division

Renton Little League is for players who live or attend school in the Renton Little League Boundary. In order to determine your child’s proper division placement, check the Little League Baseball Age Chart.

TEE-BALL (CO-ED), AGES 5-6

Developmental league designed to provide an introduction to baseball with a focus on fundamentals, teamwork and fun! No scores kept, no umpires. Although there is a designated coach, parent involvement is very important and extremely helpful. 

Team selection is by school and geographical location. Coach and /or reciprocal buddy requests will be considered, but not guaranteed. 

Practices begin mid-March and games begin mid-April. Tee- Ball will play two games per week, one on a weekday and one on a Saturday. The coach will decide if there will be an additional weeknight practice. Coaches will be in contact with specific team details after teams are assigned.

Registration Fee: $125 includes hat and shirt

Required Equipment: Mitt, cleats and batting helmet are recommended.

A BASEBALL (CO-ED, MACHINE PITCH), AGES 6-7

Machine Pitch league is deigned to foster fundamental growth of young players. There is an increased focus on defensive positions and machine pitching is performed from 40 feet.

Team selection is by school and geographical location. Coach and/or reciprocal buddy requests will be considered, but not guaranteed.

Practices begin mid-March and games begin mid-April. A Baseball will play two games per week, one on a weekday and one on a Saturday. The coach will decide if there will be an additional weeknight practice. Coaches will be in contact with specific team details after teams are formed.

Registration Fee: $125 includes hat and shirt

Required Equipment: Mitt, cleats, baseball pants (style/color selected by coach) and a protective cup. A personal batting helmet and bat are recommended.

AA BASEBALL – (CO-ED, Player/Coach Pitch), Ages 7-8

Combination of player and coach pitching with players pitching from 40’-46’. There is an increased focus on throwing the ball with accuracy to a designated target, understanding basic defensive situations, and where to play the ball and batting live pitches.

Team selection is by school and geographical location. Coach and/or reciprocal buddy requests will be considered, but not guaranteed.

Practices begin mid-March and games begin mid-April. AA Baseball will play two games per week, one on a weekday and one on a Saturday. The coach will decide if there will be an additional weeknight practice. Coaches will be in contact with specific team details after teams are assigned.

Registration Fee: $150 includes hat and shirt

Required Equipment: Mitt, cleats, baseball pants (style/coach selected by coach) and a protective cup. A personal batting helmet and bat are recommended.

AAA BASEBALL, (CO-ED, PLAYER PITCH), AGES 9-11
 
There is an increased emphasis on skills, play-making decisions, and teamwork. Players also continue to learn respect for coaches, umpires, and rules of the game. This division is 100% player pitch.

Teams are assembled via player assessment and team draft. Player assessments are held early February. Teams are assembled to be as balanced as possible. No team/coach requests allowed.

Practices begin early March and games begin end of March/early April.  AAA Baseball will play three games per week, two weekdays, and one on a Saturday with an additional weekday of practice. Coaches will be in contact with specific team details after teams are formed.

Registration Fee: $175 includes hat and jersey

Required Equipment: Mitt, cleats, baseball pants (style/coach selected by coach) and a protective cup. A personal batting helmet and bat are recommended.

Player Evaluation Information:   

Who:  Registered Baseball and Softball players at the AAA and Majors Levels (Ages 9-12)

What: Players will be evaluated on hitting, running, fielding and throwing.  Evaluations for Pitchers and Catchers is optional and will be done after general evaluations are complete.

Why:  To gauge skill levels for placement in divisions and manager insight into drafting teams.

How:  Fielding – successful fielding of ground balls

            Throwing – accuracy in hitting a target from a set range

            Hitting – Stance, Balance and Contact

            Running – time for 60’

When:  The weekend of February 8th. Makeup date February 28th.

Where: EL1 Baseball facility, 15046 NE 95th St, Redmond, WA.

What to bring:  Safety equipment (protective cup), Bat, Batting Helmet, Glove, tennis or turf shoes (no cleats).  Dress appropriate for Baseball/Softball activities.  Shorts are allowed, we will be indoors.

Arrival:  Check in at the desk and your player will be provided a number to wear on the front of their shirt.  All scoring will be related to this number.

Evaluations will take place after registration has ended.  After evaluations have been completed each player will be given a composite score based on the evaluation criteria.  The players will then be ranked by overall composite score.  This information will be provided to the Managers for their reference during the draft.  The draft as well as the scores are kept confidential.  Players should not know what their score was nor where they were drafted.  Teams will be drafted prior to March. 

If your player is unable to attend the evaluations, they may not be drafted to a team.

There is advance competitive play. All 12- year old players will be assigned to a Major's team.

50/70 Baseball division utilizes a modified baseball field using a 50 foot pitching distance and 70 foot base path. Players will add more skill and strategy to their game. Base stealing, sliding, and lead offs are allowed at this level. 

Teams are assembled via player assessments and team draft. Player assessments are held early February. Teams are assembled to be as balanced as possible. No team/coach requests allowed.

Practices begin early March and games begin end of March/early April. 50/70 Baseball will play three games per week; typically two weekdays and one on a Saturday with an additional weekday of practice. Coaches will be in contact with specific team details after teams are assigned.

Registration Fee: $175, includes hat and jersey

Required Equipment: Mitt, cleats, baseball pants (style/color selected by coach) and a protective cup. A personal batting helmet and bat are recommended.

The Junior League Baseball Division is a program using a conventional 90-foot diamond with a pitching distance of 60 feet, 6 inches. Modified diamond dimensions may be used during the regular season.

Teams are assembled via player assessments and team draft. Player assessments are held early February. Teams are assembled to be as balanced as possible. No team/coach requests allowed. 

Practices begin early March and games begin end of March/early April. Junior Baseball will play three games per week; typically, two weekdays and one on a Saturday with an additional weekday of practice.  Coaches will be in contact with specific team details after teams are formed.

Registration Fee: $175 includes hat and jersey
